Hello I am trying to launch myself as a full time director, I am looking for feedback on my reel. I am hoping to get regional commercial gigs and I would like to make more features....

most of the footage was shot on red some on dv.

    I appreciate any constructive critique.

    Hi Jamey

My favorite work is the old woman who falls... the production value was higher and in the short time I spent with it I understood the story you were telling.

Very seldom does a reel get you work.. it's been my experience that the reel shows you can deliver the work. When going for commercial work you need to be able to tell a story with precise editing and shot composition.

My thoughts are to keep it short and focus on your ability to tell a story and showcase a unique visual style.

Ask yourself "would you give yourself 20k to shoot a music video or TV commercial based on this shot or series of shots." If the answer is no than take it out of your reel and build it back with more "yes" answers.
