If there are worries about this app cutting into Redmote sales, it could be a free download to customers that purchase a Redmote...

  4. #34 Either charge for the ipad app or free download with redmote purchase
I sincerely hope that Red will make good on what should be a pretty simple iOS product to develop.

If I am wrong about that and there is some non-economic reason
why this app has not arrived after 2+ years I am ok with that too.

Sunlight is the best disinfectant. If Red would simply inform us as to what is going on I am sure
that we would all feel a lot better.

If they need to make profit off of accessories in order to offer us low DSMC Brain prices, then offer the app bundled with the redmote accessory. Or charge money for the app.
If it is a technical issue, then simply tell us what it is and whether you are continuing to work on it or if its a dead project. Please just give us some updates.

    Thanks.

Agree, gopro 3 nailed it, so the tech exists and quite simple probably. Please implement it!

Its in the Meizler right now, well at least the Ipad app is. The units that are out in the wild are using it already. The iphone app is still being wrapped up.

found this comment on NoFilmSchool and thought it reflected my sentiments exactly.

This meizler module looks pretty amazing. The Meizler Module is prohibitively expensive for most Scarlet users....As I understand it, the Epic and Scarlet already include wifi – it’s what’s used to connect to the redmote, albeit with a modified protocol. It’s a pity that it can’t be co-opted to work with ipad app directly for those of us with shallower pockets.

I believe the demo Ted did @ NAB 2011 was using the wifi embedded in the Epic. Perhaps i am mistaken. Can we please get clarification if the iPad app will be compatible with built in wifi on the epic and scarlet in the near future. I am sure you tire of the scarlet owners needs for lower cost solutions than our Hollywood budget sized peers. We do not want the whole enchilada but a few small things would benefit us greatly. As stated in the above comment by another user "GoPro" was able to Master wifi control for low cost. I bet with their engineering prowess Red can help a brother out. Thanks for the consideration.
