As a note to those thinking of buying a DSLR as a stop gap or to hit deadlines.... Don't forget that these are amazing still image cameras and the resale value wont drop much when Scarlet is released (unlike a video specific camera like the EX1, for instance).

In terms of resale... I would opt for 7D... as a 5DIII will likely be out late 2010.

if its truly a place holder, T2i is the way to go, since the video is exactly the same at a significant price savings (can use for glass!)

MAYBE the glass will work on scarlet interchangable! But I would estimate interchangable twice as far away as fixed. So i am not investing in GREAT glass. Just waiting for fixed scarlet, money in hand, tear in eye.

agreed, I work for a media arts college, and I am trying to get RED implemented here, but the way it's going... yes, I know, patience, I've got it, and have had it, but any news would be nice.

You might start by reading this thread before you post. You don't have to look far or even read every post. Just look for the ones where the user's name appears in Red. It's pretty quick and easy.

A few pages back Jarred said they were getting some engineering info together for the announcement. That was a day or two ago. Edit: the 15th.

Here, I'll save you the trouble:

There never was a 15th date set.. Just mid-may. We are still waiting on a few pieces of information to come forth before we can lay it all out for you.
