Heh heh I used one of these ( front version ) about 10 years ago... bizarro lens. never get the same shot twice :)

Ahhh yes... I built quite a few of those little guys back in the day. Nostalgic for me.
You can set it in one position and use it as an anamorphic. It might be difficult to keep the clocking between shots. It's a fairly critical adjustment.

Sorry to bring this back. Does any one know if the Kish Mezmeriser Anamorphic (front attachment version) flares like other anamorphics lenses and what is the squeeze ratio? 2:1?
