    I heard from a technician of an Apple Certified Repair Center that very soon they will announce the 3 quad-core (12 cores!) Mac Pro. Not more details, though...

    I think 2 six-core (also 12 cores) is more realistic. Here

    we're about to order a red rocket, which i'm pumped about.

    down the line there will obviously be a ProRes module.. will having the ProRes module negate the need to a red rocket for non-native workflows? Will this module record full debayered ProRes HQ on the fly? won't be a complete substitute for the red rocket, but might be a good alternative for some people.
