Some kind of active, closed loop feedback system that tells you when it's correct perhaps?
Maybe the video game is good.

This Red device looks slick. I love a one button device.....

That's what I think. If you look at the picture, there seem to be 2 LED lights on the front, one with an arrow saying CHECK BACK FOCUS. So if the other light is on, maybe you don't need any adjustment.

That was what I thought when I first saw it.

If I remember correctly and it was not in a dream, some mention was made that the Epic sensor would be able to "swing and tilt". If this is still true (and not just a wonderful dream), a calibration device that has targets corner to corner and top to bottom will be necessary to accurately reposition the sensor to the factory nominal settings. Varification of correct "flange to film/sensor plane" distance and paralellism is always welcome. It makes for a good night's sleep.

2 very different products , And you guys havn't even heard the most exciting thing about it yet :)

Almost- Optimator still has the advantage of full sensor coverage, tilt and centering checking beside flangeneutral mounting system, onboard charger etc..
Except for the "secret" feature that has something to do with camera software I suppose.
Sooner or later somebody should do a flange tool shootout test, impartial as can be, other than this being the RED turf( with all due respect) so everyone is informed to make the best decision for their needs. I for one am all for it....
