Sort of the whole point of the modular system, isn't it? You simply replace the whole brain, which contains the sensor and processor.

For some reason, I doubt you are going to run into an ASC member using those words in an advertisement for anyone's product.... ;)

I thought that push processing was a standard lab photographic procedure. ;)

Definitely. Maybe Red could do some TV spots with the tag "More cushin' for the pushin'..." with a Barry White song playing in the background.

With R1M or R1MX R3D files get Red Rcket card, Wave console and any of wide gamut LCD monitors

then with that set-up you can "play" PUSH & PULL GAME in REDCine-X using FLUT™ knob from Wave.

Just to have a feeling what is DR (13.5 with MX R3Ds).

Dynamic range is, after all, the measurement between well saturation (photosite blowout) and noise floor.

Jim, a few questions if you may. Does 13.5 come from a 2k down-conversion? Are you still pushing ahead on M-X? Think you can get an other hair out of it?

Noise level is much more acceptable by about full stop after downsizing from 4K to 2K when it is done properly.

Takes a lot of fooling around with noise reduction though.

If only Graeme had some spare time to do NR 4K->2K button it would be fully automatic one extra stop of DR.

Doing NR after downscaling doesn’t give good results.
Sometimes I wish to have NR on 2K output with NR info from 4K original.

The decision of NR for single 2K pixel should come from 12 pixels of 4K original not from 8 pixels of 2K result.

To air during SuperBowl 2011 (shot on Epic and probably should be 3D).

You make a very good point. The NR step would have to be handled by the RED Rocket as a metadata setting, otherwise NR would have to be applied at full resolution by the CPU, making downscaling also have to be handled by the CPU... bye bye RT.

Unfortunately, it might be beyond the might of the RED Rocket's original hardware design...

Graeme? Are you planning on developing something like this? Is it possible off the RED Rocket?
