Avid relink issue

Hi,

I've transcoded my R3D's into DNxHD 40 MXF's using Metafuze and exported an ALE for bringing them into the Avid. I'm planning on using the Autosync feature, to sync up my audio for the offline edit.

Autosync creates an entirely new subclip with the audio added, and places 'sync' on the end of the file name. Now if I do my edit with these new clips, will it create problems when I try and relink back to my R3D's for the online process?

No.
Even more so, if you relink the synced clips, you will still have synced clips, but now in online resolution. If you relink just the sequence, you will end up with separately linked video-only clips. Not that it matters for online purposes, but still.

You can change the Name of the clip as a well and you will still be able to creates lists for picture and sound as needed.
