Although I like the "percentage" of the render process, I miss the "estimated time remaining" from Redcine, which by the way, was for us always always accurate...

Since the long hours and days of rendering are monopolizing the computers, thus leaving us to do other stuff, or plain falling asleep on the office couch, I really liked to be able to calculate when to come back to the office or computer to check the renders and start another rendering job... I was crucial on our last job to meet the delivery schedule. Following many days of cutting and sleepless nights in a row, the job was finished an hour before screening and every seconds mattered...

For those who really need a time frame and also to optimize the long renders (we often render entire mags, like 200gb), it's cool to know when the job is done and not loose hours before getting on the rest or the edit...

My couple of ideas would be:
-Along the percentage, add the estimated time remaining
-Add an optional alarm (like a microwave oven "ding") that rings when the job is done
-And, ultimate luxury, would be to also have an optional message sent to a chosen email address or two ;P) to confirm it's done...

I'm not sure these are technically hard to do, and they'd be very useful imo.

Other such ideas welcome, these just come from our own small inhouse workflow experience and would fit our needs a lot!

    Cheers

can't you just write a script to send you an email?

I second those suggestions- and I really like the alarm idea, that would be very handy. If it is not possible to do via the app, and someone knows how to write a script for it, please post it here for those of us who have no clue how to do such things.
