    Hey Jim/Jarred-
The Scarlet pricing stuff mentioned both a $1500 1.8" SSD module, as well as a $200 SSD reader. Any insight as to what that reader is? Thanks.
And Jim, good call brining Jarred into the Recon ring. I've always thought it might be nice to have the both of you starting Recon threads. And Jarred, congrats on that :)
    Peace,

    -Harry

    Yes, Jarred, you did fantastic.

    What were you doing, Jim?

Some things just make sense. I thought it was fun when he was setting up the October 30th Feedback thread while you were warming up the Announcement thread. The rhythm of the tag team posting in the Announcement thread helped gel the community feel of the event. Made it more exciting, if that's possible!

The SSD reader is one part of the RED STATION.. can be used by itself, or in the stack.

Great looking stuff, the bleeding edge is RED!
Just some questions which I don't think were covered yet.

Will all 2/3" Cinema Scarlet brains come standard with PL mount or with a Mini RED mount? Or will we have a choice which is extra cost?

Will RED still allow qualified 3rd party "dumb" mounts for EPIC / Scarlet? i.e. no electronic mounts?

    Thanks.

The knob is aprox. 2.5" in diameter, there are some similar sized knobs on the market and it feels really good in your hand. The white ring is replaceable.

The Battery on the Redmote should last an entire day. When it is on the back of the camera it charges itself as well.
    So, in case I missed this (been looking everywhere over here);
is there any way to connect external motors directly to the epic without still needing another focuscontrol, but using the one on the redmote pro????

Jarred has stated previously that the 2/3" Cinema Scarlet brain comes with a mini PL mount. S35 Epic and Scarlet brains come with a dumb PL mount. Subject to change of course.

    There is a $21 000 price difference between a S35 Epic and a S35 Scarlet.

Are the higher frame rates and bitrates the only differences ?
    120 fps at 3K on Scarlet (+ 150 fps burst), Redcode 100
    160 fps at 3K on Epic, and 100 fps at 5K, Redcode 250 ?

    Did I miss something ?

    Nils,

Best not to put these specs together like this. They might realise what they are giving away with the Scarlet and rethink. You don't want to Ruinet for the rest of us do you?

OK thanks. I read his posts, but was not sure if he meant the full size PL was standard, or the mini PL was standard on the 2/3" cinema. I guess it's mini, drat.

I edited my post, adding that I meant 3rd party dumb mounts for other lens mounts.
