Considering that Final Cut still insists that perfectly good MXF-wrapped footage has to be re-wrapped into Quicktime wrappers, which takes time, doubles your storage space requirements, and prevents you from playing those files on a computer that doesn't have Final Cut installed... I think it's safe to say that Apple's current policy is to only support Quicktime MOVs, and make anyone shooting AVIs, MXFs, or R3Ds jump through extra hoops.
Yep... they have really disappointed me lately. They stopped focusing on the professionals who made them what they were and put their attention on the average consumer. Thankfully, RED hasn't fallen for this. I will drink a beer to that!

I highly doubt that the precision would be enough for VFX matchmaking needs for final compositing. However, data stream may be OK for realtime rough 3D composite preview while shooting on-set.

Previous frame "onion skinning" in the Epics only? Boo! Hiss! Sorely missed...

Well, you gotta stop SOMEWHERE before you make Scarlet the perfect camera and cannibalise your Epic sales ;)

Are you referring to 802.1AE MAC (link layer) encryption (like what's found on Cisco's Nexus 7000 data center switches), or just classic IPSec? Also, will PKI tokens or smartcard readers be supported via USB? I could see movie studios wanting this feature, especially if mainstream cinema deployments are one of your target markets. Imagine sending a first-run film via DVD through FedEx, but having the disc be worthless unless the recipient holds a valid Fox/Paramount/Universal issued PKI token. I'm sure you guys are thinking along these lines, yes?

Any chance of choosing a file extension type that does not conflict with Tobi Oetiker's RRDtool Round Robin Database files? How about RRT (RedRay Transport)? And, no, I didn't check to see if 'RRT' was being used by anything mainstream...

I second the question about servo controlled zoom. Is this there or a currently planned option on the fixed or any of the REDmini primes?

Will RED be making mini-zooms to accompany mini primes? I thought I was done buying lenses, but these suckers are re-igniting my inner lens junkie.

So much good stuff happening, it will take time to absorb it all.

Can you set an EPIC next to the Nikon and the SCARLET? Or are the brain boxes all the same size? Will there be size/weight differences between SCARLET and EPIC, assuming no modules?

The mini-PL style RED mount is unique to Scarlet as far as I know. Not to say there won't be after market lenses for it within a year or so. Modified versions of some B4 HD lenses from Fuji, Canon, and Angenieux with rear optical elements suited for a single focal plane sensor camera would be pretty easy and quick to design for the Scarlet market.

There is an ARRI B mount to C-mount adapter available from Chambless cine that might serve as an alternative to a more expensive PL conversion for 16m lenses. I am considering this route vs PL conversions for a couple of my lenses.

Also how about that lovely OLED display on the lens design you showed us last time round. Is that coming across the the fixed or REDmini's?

I plan on buying a an adapter ring from whitehouseaudiovisual.com for 400 for each of the 2 zooms I plan on buying which are the 12-240 and 9.5-57. They are very big lenses and I want a robust mount.

Not to dash anyone's hopes but the sort of GPS receiver I would expect on the scarlet/epic is not going to be per-frame. Most GPS receivers are about 5fps. Not that it really matters since you probably won't move outside of the receiver noise in one second anyway.
