I'm all for RED's "industrial" design ethic, but the Scarlet fixed looks about as comfortable to hold as a stageweight. Am I missing something here? I realise there are handle options and side modules, but isn't the fixed meant to be complete in some way? Including the whole body?
Someone put me straight on this..
Looks like it'll be a while before we get any direct answers to the 1000's of questions we're asking (prove me wrong Jarred/Jim!).
The most pressing in my mind is the Scarlet shipping order (i.e, waiting list beased on RED 1 ownership, a free for all or what?)
I too am wondering about shipping order. Will R1 owners have access to and advanced sale? Whats the plan?
I can't agree. Sooner would be nice but this is very competitive pricing. The only thing that strikes me as overpriced is the RED Matte box, but I have a down on matte boxes anyway...I'm sure there will be affordable 3rd party rail/follow focus systems for the RED primes, and it may not even be necessary with the Fixed lens.
Certainly, the competition will have increased in 6 months time, but the $5k fixed lens package still sounds like a winner.
Sorry guys be back shortly to answer some questions... :)
How does the REDVOLT battery work in the fixed kit?
Wouldn't a battery module require the scarlet adapter or handle?
I'd love to see a pic of the full kit.
So, what is #21? I'm sure I want it, whatever it is...
Oh, and the HDR stills mode is pretty fabdabulous. Why is no one commenting on it?
I see a redmote KNOB!
