I've been watching a lot of BTS footage on Star Trek, and I'd like to know what mics they have on the end of their booms on the sound stages.

If anyone knows I'd be grateful.

    Hi Jay,

I forwarded along your question directly to one of the Boom Ops on Star Trek. (I happened to work on it for a few weeks as well as a few other films with him) and was able to get a quick reply. :-)

According to him, they used Sennheiser 50's for boom, and Sanken lav's.

    Hope this helps you out.

    cheers,

I just saw the Sanken Lav demo at the Sac FCPUG. Are they as good as they demo?
