used my 6' drive cable for the first time and got continuos record error messages and rocketeer fault warnings. Have not had these warnings before so my question is - is it a known cable problem, drive problem or both???

what build are you on, what does the error message say exactly, what size drive are you using, do you have another drive/cable you can borrow to test with? can you record to CF cards alright?

Hmm... I am having trouble with my 6ft Drive cable too. Besides the error messages listed above, sometimes the camera won't even recognize the Drive. Are these cables back in production?
How did you resolve this issue as i am having error messages every time on playback with the 6' drive cable but not the 18" drive cable?
Hello my original 6ft cable from a year ago or so was showing same behavior.
Was the same with different red drives and same drive would work well with short cables.
Red issued an RMA for my cable in July and I received a new fully working long drive cable in september (was on backorder i think). Great service and it is quite useful to have this cable along with beltclip battery plate as you can offload a lot of weight/volume from an handeld REDone.
