As developments continue and the Epic and Scarlet inch closer to becoming real products, I'm sure I'm not the only one curious about how we'll get our new cams and how long we'll have to wait in line.

Demand is clearly going to be enormous (especially for the new markets scarlet is tapping into), and either RED is going to ramp up production efforts at least 100 fold from the release of the One, or there will be a long line.

How will this be handled? Is there going to be a waiting list? Should we all have a few grand just kicking around, ready to hand over as a deposit to get a slot? Or will it simply be first come first served?

I do not work for RED but last I heard they were not going to take reservations for epic or scarlet to avoid big lines and all that noise. Although if your a RED one owner now you have 1st shot at getting your hands on EPIC/Scarlet from what I understand. I am sure Jarred can clear it up for you.

As I understand it, the line order is by your Red serial number. After that it will be open to everyone.- hence- Jim's post last night...

Serial number or order of purchase? The guy with serial number 50 may have delayed delivery and bought after serial 2000.

That,s a very good question Jim. I know that there were many who held off taking delivery in the beginning.

Seriously, did anyone else first think, "Black market resell markups" when they heard about the order of purchase deal? I think its great what Red is doing for the loyal customers who placed their trust in them when they were first starting out. I just can't think of these things, haha

Jim has previously stated very clearly that they will honor their existing costumers first, by order of the dates the owners took DELIVERY of their cameras.

How about the guys who bought a place in line with earlier serial numbers? They technically would have taken delivery after guys with earlier numbers.

I imagine the date that the original owner took delivery would apply.
