  1. #1 Redline renders failing at 2GB across network?
    Hi all,
Weird but finally tracked it down.

So, Render out of Clipfinder and set destination to a folder on the server.
    (files coming from server also)

Render QT. Always fails at 2GB exact

Render QT to local raid and all is good :-/ hmm..

Just to clarify.. the QT's are there when render finishes. Just only 2GB exactly.. therefore short.

    Cheers

    Si

Yes. This is a known problem with REDline and Quicktime: you cannot render files larger than 2GB to a network volume. Rendering to a local disk works fine.

    Thanks Hans.

How does one render qt's using redline and a renderfarm then ? :-/

Anyone know if Red are looking at this?

    Cheers

With Clipfinder's distributed rendering (explained in the "What's new in Clipfinder 2.2" section in the integrated help pages (CMD-?)) you can render to a local disk.

RED are aware of the problem and claim that the problem is in Quicktime.

    Cheers,
    Hans
