We don't have the best track record of making projected release dates. In many instances, we announce something and then frustrate our customers by being late. We now find ourselves not wanting to talk about a lot of things currently in development. But you should know that there are a ton of things going on behind the scenes.

We recently asked for "test pilots" to try out our new color science. About a week later there is a build for everyone to work with. Then, soon after, there is a full download package called Build 20 available. This seems like a much better approach to "announcement and release" compared to our old way of doing things.

If we feel fairly certain of hitting our targets in a timely fashion, we'll tell you about it. RED Rocket is an example.

But going forward we are not likely to announce or give out dates of things we are working on until just before they are ready. The exception would be something we need a lot of customer feedback on (like Scarlet & EPIC)... but even then we'll try to get closer to completion before talking about it and asking for feedback.

We really appreciate our customers and their patience with us as we are building a camera company from scratch. It has been much more complicated and difficult than ever imagined. We are always trying to find ways to improve our business. That includes how we communicate with our partners and customers.

"The camera is arguably one of the most important of all inventions… it is the single tool that has the ability to stop time, record history, generate art, tell stories, and communicate messages that transcend language like nothing else ever conceived."

"Everything in life changes... including our camera specs and delivery dates..."

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone with a bad attitude.

No problem. As long as we get some idea of what the product is and price range if it is going to be expensive. Also, if we get a basic idea of when--like "second half of next year" would work. It just really helps some of us without a lot of money to make wise purchasing decisions. One thing I don't like about Apple....

    I agree Jim
Too many people crying and complaining on here
I can't wait to get an Epic
But I can wait for it to be right
Or at least "Red One right" : )
My red one has worked the way I needed it to
And Im mostly changing to Epic
Because I can use it as a lightweight Red one
Lately it seems the bitching is down to a minimum
And I think that's due to the awesome real name change
It's alot easier to browse the forum and get the proper info
    From the usual reduser regulars
    A great bunch of people
Thanks for filtering the forum jarred and moderators

    Sounds good.

I think having the Red One out makes it much easier. I have an amazing camera that I can use every day and it works great!

I can wait for everything else as my world will just get better as time goes on.

    Keep up the fantastic work.

We're all behind you! I know I've been shouting from the rafters here in Oz.

    We understand that Jim.
We understand the further out there, on the leading edge you are...the exponentially harder it is to achieve 100% perfection.
We want the new stuff fresh out of the oven, not the old school technologies...that's why we're with you.
Keep on giving us the best you can. You've done it right so far....keep it coming!

We have a great tool in our hands: Red One.

For your proof to make a real pro 4k camera, it is already done.

Keep improving and innovating the products,
now more in the back store, No problem with me.

    Jim,
Can't wait for these discussions around the FF35 versions.
I expect it to be like when the RedOne was being developed...or hope so!
