Been watching that one. Waiting on pictures. Can you tell me - what is the weight of that package?

    Thanks,

    I'm glad to hear it.

    I'll be posting pictures tomorrow.

The light isn't heavy, but it isn't light, either. I'd guess about 25 pounds, but that is just a guess. I'm a 52-year-old wuss with a bad back and really bad elbow, and I can handle it. The ballast is no issue at all.

The lens is 12" wide, counting the ring holder.

If I didn't have four other HMIs, I wouldn't be selling it.

    Pics now posted. . .

Head (not counting the cable) weighs 40 pounds. The ballast weighs 20 pounds.

    Good luck.

It's actually in violation of ebay policy to end an auction for this reason if the current high bid has met or exceeded any reserve pricing. Auction bids, at least in the USA and a handful of other countries, are a legally binding sales contract.

Then why does ebay have a provision for ending an auction early?

Because you can end an auction early IF

You listed in your item for sale offline and stated its subject to sale AND that you disclosed that to bidders in your ad.

I personally loathe that auction site and hope more people stop using that monopoly.. requiring people to use paygouge er, paypal is unconstitutional
and violates anti-trust imho, especially as Ebay owns paypal.

in other words, "Hi, we are now requiring you to pay us more profits"

    Meantime, good luck bidders.

I'm with you Tim, I don't like Ebay and their fees and monopoly.

Yes, they let you end auctions early, but you must have a proper reason. If a valid bid is in place, it's not as simple as just ending the auction because you received an outside offer. Your conditional "IF" above works, but that doesn't apply in this case. I know for a while, not sure if it still works this way, ebay actually required consent from the current high bidder in order to end an auction early.

While I'm not fan of ebay, it's still bad business etiquette to cancel an auction when there are already existing bids in place, made in good faith, simply because someone doesn't want to deal with the auction site. But if it's going to happen, then let him move the auction here to this thread. I can assure you, Tim, you're not the only one who's interested in buying it.
