We are currently prepping for a shoot using the red with a 2.35:1 aspect ratio. We need offline Quicktime files at 1920x1080 letterboxed to 2.35:1 with burned in timecode in the bottom black bar. This seemed easy enough to do with RedRushes however everything goes awry when I enable cropping.
Without cropping enabled everything works fine, but when I flip it on and plug in some cropping for 2.35:1 (based on debayer not full res as instructed) the output time slows to a crawl (say 1/10 the speed at best) and what I get as output is a 1920x1080 QT that flashes various frames of solid color with no sign of the original image. The timecode however is still burned over the QT as normal.
I have tried using the rendering window in RedAlert, and again, everything goes fine until I enable cropping. RedAlert however simply crashes instead of giving me bad output.
This is needless to say a big problem for our workflow when shooting 2.35:1. Is there any chance this is a known issue and will be corrected shortly?
FYI - MacPro 8-core 3Ghz, 10GB RAM, OS 10.5.6, QT 7.6 (472), RedAlert 3.60, RedRushes 3.60 (1)
