Will MTF charts be published? If so, when? And at what spatial frequencies? (Some manufacturers only publish a paltry 10 lp/mm and 30 lp/mm.) Will the MTF be based on theoretical performance of the computer model (like Canon and Nikon)? Or real-life measured performance?

Wow I've had a theory since my very first Red expierience that this was a factor, and why "perfect" lens sets would vary distance between their range.

Good work Red, and wait to have a set.

But is this a significant yes?

Any less lay brains care to offer some coherent thoughts?

You are quick to notice the slippery-slope of published specs. If one is not careful, you can look like the worse lens on paper even when it isn't the case.

I would vote for a spec sheet on lenses with uniform criteria without having to read the small print. I am also surprised at some companies T-stop claims and how far off they are. But until the time when spec sheets are fair and truly represent what a lens is, we will lean on the lens projector to help customers differentiate. As stated elsewhere, a lens projector does not tell you everything... but we think it speaks much louder than a spec sheet. At least the language of the lens projector is consistent.

I'm sure I will. Not sure my accountant will, though ;-)

Sounds good. Will you also be posting information on estimated delivery schedule. I expect people who ordered them "back when" will get served first and then everyone else. If I'm to put in a reservation for a set now I need to know when I have to put down the money. I also have an Epic X "upgrade" coming ;-)

I´m sure they are good... more than reasonably good.
My greatest concern: delivery dates. When may I be able to touch my set, after ordering as a plain customer, from my distant country, among perhaps some other 1,000 or more orders...
Lack of a couple of sets of good prime lenses has been, by far, my major setback for renting my two Reds. I have good camera systems, zooms, tripods, matteboxes, filters, HD monitors, downconverters, etc. etc. but the second question on the phone is always "And what are your optics?"

We expect to have the 1st couple of hundred sets out by June and all the orders from NAB filled by late Summer or early Fall (depending on how many orders we receive this week). 1st sets get delivered this week.

This reading sounds similar to that which was offered to me few years back when in Miami at the Arri location there when testing the MP's, but for some reasons I'm far more exited about the RPPs, look forward to Wed.

Would there be a possibility of mounting the Master Diopters on the 85 and or 100?

I know the camera is a big deal.. I own one! But somehow, and I cannot put my finger on exactly why, I think the RPP lenses are causing just as much, if not more than a stir on the market place.

    Thank god
