Did you nail that milk shot in one take? (Nice makeup btw)
    Very well done :)

Ha, that's hilarious you bring up the one-take milk shot. Yes we did nail it in a single take. I was all prepared for multiple takes, with towels for clean up and changes of clothes for Rose (the actress), and then it all worked as well as I could have hoped. So we moved on, which also helped us catch up in our very very tight schedule (one day shoot per episode).

Rose surprised us all when she regurgitated the milk. That was NOT planned. And we all had to keep from bursting out laughing. We were totally surprised by that part. :-)

    Thank you for watching!

Thanks derbernd. We shot tungsten but gelled everything as much as we could to get a 5000 Kelvin colour temperature. It dropped our light levels a lot, because obviously you can lose so much light with the gels. I bet in the end we were lighting closer to 4200 Kelvin.

Someone commented elsewhere on some "blown out" whites in the short. I can tell you this: the HD version has a lot of detail in the hot whites. The online version is super compressed.

For example the actor's shirt collar blows out in one shot, but from the grab below, in which I isolated the actor's collar, you can see that there's still good information in there when it's brought down. (But now, worse off is the clipping on the actor's nose--which is NOT in the final shot.) Just an example of how Red can allow you to retrieve blown out highlights in post.
