  1. #101 Filming with Steve Gibby and Blair Paulsen
Filming with DOPs like Steve Gibby, Blair Paulsen, Champe Barton and Dave Hillman, in a single show, is a Producer's dream come true. these guys are such masters of their craft, true virtuosos, magical in their composition, obviously underrated, probably underpaid, while they perform their art so effortlessly with an inert smile. Whether filming with a single Red 4K camera or orchestrating ten (10) Red 4K cameras plus 2 more sony HD cameras for a total of 12 cameras, as they did for the rock band "Journey" concert in Manila Philippines, it is but obvious that it hardly gets much better than these guy's magic put together.

Thank you. This is like the answer to a rather negative/sceptic post I made in "Ohmygosh" the other day. I'm glad my fear is being denied and that it again looks like a professional firm to me. Great!

Thank you for those extremely kind words Oli. It was a total team effort on the Manila production - those of us from the USA, and the very talented crew that your company (RSVP Films) provided. It took a maximum effort by every single person on the crew to pull off a project as complicated as that.

It was a great pleasure to visit your beautiful country, work with you and your very professional crew, visit your excellent company facilities, and experience the pure energy of Journey in the tropical night air - all in all, simply magic I'd say :-)

See you at the RED User party in Las Vegas my friend...

Jim, would it be possible to make $750 'complete kit'
into a $750 'complete kit module' that could be used with any of the brains?

    EDIT-
I can see this being used a lot with the interchangeable 2/3 cinema or
    as a good run&gun option for s35

Would be cool. But I'd like to see the parts cost as much as that normally, as I'd like to have the bomb-evf instead of a small lcd. Looks like buying the stuff without the lcd plus the Bomb-EVF would cost more (at least I think so) as grabbing the full kit and a Bomb-EVF. WEll, whos there to question that. Then I can mount a LCD to the side for the other crew to watch while filming:)
