Hi, I have a bit of a problem.

Basically, I used the Final Cut Studio plugin from RED and the latest versions of FCP and Color to log and transfer my footage into FCP. It looks GREAT.

But then I go to Send To Color for my sequence and I notice that in Color the Primary Room tab called RED is all grayed out. Thus, robbing me of the ability to reset things like exposure, etc inside Color.

I did a search online and didn't find anyone else having this problem. My Camera is build 16, so it should be groovy... any ideas?

    Thanks in advance!

In the log and transfer plugin, you need to ensure it's set to "native" in the little pulldown menu.

OK, did a new log/tx of a single clip, making sure NATIVE is selected on the gear dropdown at the upper right of the list screen, then set up a new test sequence in FCP, dropped the clip onto the timeline, clicked YES when it asked if I'd like to change the settings to match the clip... then Sent to Color, and RED tab is still not enabled.

I'm using Color 1.04, FCP 6.05, and of course the RED plugin v 1.0.0 (from the site).

    Here's what I found:

Because I'd used an old version of the log and transfer before FC Studio supported Native, my Preferences pane in Log and Transfer was set to transcode R3D to ProRes- despite the fact that I'd set the dropdown to Native.

So, I did another single clip log and transfer. It worked! I can use the RED tab in Color.

Only snag now is, the timeline in FCP is now red instead of green or blue. Meaning, it won't play back in real time. Which makes it kind of impossible to edit.

Still, closer! If you're still around, and have an idea on this off the top of your head- GREAT! Otherwise I'll be poking around trying to find other posts and such to fix this one...

    Thanks!

Boy, I feel dumb today. But still, no solution. Is the option either real-time playback OR the RED tab in Color works?

If anyone has ideas, please share. Thanks.

yeah, one is for "native" color settings, the other is for "native" transcode
tried to avoid the term "native" for transcode (wanted REDCODE) but
the architecture is very particular about this point. Sorry for the confusion.
