    Tom,

I wonder how long 6k 72fps "burst" will be?

I understand that there is a difference between 3k and 2k, but do you think 2k at 72fps will suffice? Being divisible by 24 does allow for easy post ramping.

    Cheers,
    Chris

No. 2K bayer is closer to 720p than 1080p, especially in low light. IMO. You really need 3K if you plan to finish at 2K or 1080p.

It depends on who's 1080P. Most 1080P cameras are not really 1080P.

BTW, I didn't edit your post. I just hit the wrong button. Oops...

What I want is image quality in a camera. I have seen many 1080p cameras, and they all seem to have different IQ.

Maybe the price decrease of the FF35mm Scarlet is the reason for the disappearing of 3K\60fps.

I don't think any features have really changed other than getting better. The only step back I see is the 150fps burst for scarlet from the previous 180fps, who cares. It does say custom on FF35mm Scarlet, so I would assume its ability's will all be relative to the maximum it can do but I don't like to assume so we will have to wait and see. :)

yeah, no, i agree with you. most prosumer 1080p cameras are not legit 1080p, and none of them overcrank past "720p".

but what a lot of us are hoping for is a legit 3K@60fps or even 48fps on FF Scarlet. can you hook us up? :)

I'm definitely starting my RED career with a 2/3"-I Scarlet and by the time I have cash for the FF35mm, it'll probably have the 3K/60fps.

    Aa-h, BTW,

The earlier I get the 2/3" Scarlet, the earlier I have a chance to earn money for the FF35mm one.

    Just a thought. :bleh:

Yeah but that doesn't mean you have to stop campaigning with me for Scarlet FF35 60fps@3K. :)
