    One article here:

I've only done one (where are all the people wanting Blueray? They aren't our clients!) but it worked fine using Encore. I just used it as the compressor, too. Bring the movie in and it will automatically compress the file and prep it for authoring. Worked very simply and similar to DVD SP. Looked awesome.

If you are set up for BootCamp, this could be of help. After heaps of trawling through the Adobe user to user forums I've managed to take a Red footage timeline of 1920x1080 25p and burn a compliant Blu-Ray folder structure (AVCHD) DVD on a standard DVD that plays on our Playstation 3. It's limited to about 10 to 20 minutes on a DVD-R but fine for shortform projects and testing your workflow without making expensive Blu-Ray coasters.

In Final Cut render off your timeline as H.264 and take the file into Encore and build a Blu-Ray "Folder". Switch to Windows and edit the Blu-Ray index file with a program called BDedit and burn the image with ImageBurn. The process is a complete pain in the ass but do-able until Red-Ray saves the day.

Will this work using Encore (as part of the CS4 bundle) running on a MAC??

    G'day Sam

I did my test with the Windows Version of Encore CS3, so I'll have to let the Mac Encore guys chime in on this one. H.264 appears better supported on the Mac so I can't see it being a problem. The resulting Blu-Ray "folder" you write to a hard-drive would (you'd think) be the same on both platforms as it has to comply with strict Blu-Ray specs.

For AVCHD (Blu-Ray) playback on a standard DVD-R, I encoded at Encore's default setting of 15Mbps. You can encode within the Blu-Ray spec up to 40Mbps, but I've read you need to be burning to actual Blu-Ray discs (not DVD-R) for these high encodes to play nice on a PS3.
