Help! - Red Drive sticks on POST?

we are shooting relatively long takes (5 - 10 min) on red drives and are having a reoccurring problem of the camera getting stuck on POST when trying to cut. It seemed to be a problem with a specific drive, but even after swapping to a new drive it happened again. As a result, we have unfortunately lost large portions of those takes.

I've read other posts that recommend restoring to defaults and re-installing firmware, so we are going to try the former as we have no time for the latter. I've also read that it could be a problem with the record button getting stuck, so we tried using the other button but the problem persists...

we are on build 16 3.2.5.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Exactly the same thing happened to us last week - relatively long takes, recording to drive (4K 16:9 RC36) and build 16.

The only thing that seemed to stop this problem was unchecking the 'make QT proxies' box in the system menu. I don't know how much of a difference this actually makes to the work the camera has to do (let's remember we're dealing with a computer with a lens here), and it may have been a fluke, but it got us out of a tight spot.
