We're using phantom power (no batteries), 3 mics in each camera, and the sound is great.

But what's not great is having to reset the menus to power-on phantom power every time we reboot. Unfortunately that feature didn't make it in the latest firmware upgrade...hopefully next time.

Rather than having phantom power on all the time (not good for mics you plug in), what would be best is an assignable button on the evf say. That would be very useful.

One thing that you can do at this time is to assign the 48V Mic menu to one of the three User Menu keys A B C.

That will give you an equivalent short cut access to enable Phantom Power.

I didnt realise that Stuart. Is that in Build 16 or 17? That is a good solution.

is there any change in the audio cables needed to work with line inputs now on the new audio board, or the same cables are fine?

Either one of those Builds will do this.

Yes you don't want to be using the RED full-size XLR to mini-XLR cables which include padding resistors inside anymore.

Those cables probably could be reworked in the field if necessary.

Camera shipments now use the "original" cable style - a full-size XLR to mini-XLR adaptor plus a mini-XLR to mini-XLR cable.

Yep, having to enable the phantom power every time the camera starts is not good.
