What about the intermittent hangs at bootup when the LCD is used ?
    Will that get fixed ?

Will it ever be possible to have the clip name, record dot, and frame markings through the HD SDI when both the EVF and LCD are in use. On a drama i did recently this was the only problem i had with the camera, the operator wants the evf, the focus puller wants the lcd, the script supervisor wants the clip numbers and the camera assistant doesn't want to have to put tape all over the directors monitor. Also as the record button sometimes gets knocked it helps if video village can see if the camera is recording.

Yes, Kinetic, that would be a basic requirement in a pro camera.
If the Red Team wants to offer an upgrade on the graphics engine, even if it costs, I would love to take advantage of that.
All the outputs should offer all, or none, or some, of the info/TC/lines etc. as per the camera department's requirements.
    Just like other pro cameras.
BTW, looks like a nice software update guys. Looking forward to trying it out, and I'm glad we can "slush back" to the release build.
    Cheers,
    Harry

This was what I asked for, but it seems we will only ever get the info out if either the LCD or EVF is unplugged.

...which is why the assistant should be working off of a third party HDSDI monitor. Video village gets their framelines and timecode, the operator gets what they want, and the assistant can see what is being shot. Sure you lose the menus and status line, but you can learn to live with that. Not ideal, but I'm sure Epic will be better.

Any response to Slinn? I think he raises a legitimate issue.

Slinn, My camera doesn't hang at boot with or without the LCD... Or at least I have never had that happen where there was any indication that the LCD was at fault. Have you talked to RED about it?

I haven't had my camera hang while booting since the pre-release build 16 revisions and it would happen when a reboot was needed for resetting the clock.

I have it hang once in a while. Almost never twice in a row. I find unplugging the drive before bootup helps, but I haven't found that the LCD makes any difference.
