No. Have you seen the news about the situation in Southern California? Where ambulances have been instructed to use crisis protocols to decide who to pick up and who to leave at home to die because people are dying in the ambulances since there isn't capacity or space to treat them?

THAT is the situation surrounding Red right now. It's disrupting all sorts of things including shipping; a lot of shipping has been dalayed by weeks because of the resulting congestion, and that's not within Red's control. If Red can't obtain parts quickly enough, it can't scale up production, and no amount of effort on their part can change that.

I know we're all anxious to get our cameras. That's always the case with new gear; it's exciting and waiting for it is a trial. That's natural... but blaming Red for not scaling up production because of a global crisis isn't productive.

Black Magic's production throughout the pandemic has been far better, it's true. Let's see if you can figure out why. I'll give you a hint: BMD is an Australian company with manufacturing in Singapore.

I agree with you too, but just remember that it was RED who has put out a new product for sale during a global pandemic.
It has been RED that has charged its customers the price of a new product that after almost 3 months has not delivered.
We will continue to hope that the world situation improves, for the health of the whole world.
But the moment you take money from a client, you also take on obligations with him. That is just my opinion.

Hopefully the vaccines work and get us all out of this hole. health for all.

No one is attacking Red... no need for defense. But clearly Red should scale production to meet demand. I’d wager that they are already looking into doing exactly this.

. How would you scale production if because of a pandemic you could not get parts or have enough workers in a plant at one time to make them? Silly argument really.

I agree with you too, but just remember that it was RED who has put out a new product for sale during a global pandemic.
It has been RED that has charged its customers the price of a new product that after almost 3 months has not delivered.
We will continue to hope that the world situation improves, for the health of the whole world.

You write as if Red (or anyone else) had some way of knowing that we'd have a global pandemic, combined with the most staggeringly incompetent government response imaginable when it was developing the Komodo. When Red moved production to Mexico in order to avoid a delay due to China going into lockdown, we didn't know how bad it was going to be.

Seriously grow up and stop acting like an entitled brat. They're not behind because they're sitting on their asses. They're behind because they can't control the entire world.

It has, but Red has also offered a few people the option of taking a refund and re-billing when their camera is ready without losing their place in line.

As you can see, English is not my language.
sometimes the essence of the words is lost in translation and may sound bad. I apologize for it.

Of course we will continue to wait for everything to improve, health comes first, of course!
But I believe that this forum is free to express personal opinions always with respect.
