    I would be surprised if anyone cared. I like James Cameron a lot but... honestly, Avatar was weak sauce. And with all the VFX, why have human actors in the first place? Go CGI all the way, if you want to go high-tech.
    Good production values may not be noticed. Bad production values will be.

    Quite a bit of the film will be live action with real sets, and some will be live-action with CGI set. CGI people are not quite there yet. No doubt the alien creatures will be CGI. I think like the first Avatar, this will be a hybrid of several different types of technology.

    BTW, Avatar made about $2.79 billion dollars worldwide, so I'm sure a lot of studios would love more "weak sauce" that made the same money.

    True. But nobody cares. It has had zero impact on culture. Unlike Titanic, which is a big part of the public consciousness, and is the basis for many a meme. Of course it helps that every other person is interested in the Titanic itself.
