Hi Guys and Girls
I type this post with much excitement for 3 reasons. I don’t post often as I’m not exactly qualified to participate, but I watch and learn from the shadows.
1) About 10 years ago I introduced myself on this site, knew no one, very green, no industry contacts, and at the old age of roughly 30 at the time, I offered to help any one here on this site, paid or not, I just wanted to be on a film set, learn and earn my stripes. While a few people locally reached out, Jim Hare in particular Here in Sydney who invited me to his studio to hold a red camera for the first time it was magical. Sadly I was met with more resistance than anything else being told that offering time for free was for lack of a better term, insulting to the industry. So I took that on board and created my own projects with like minded people at my own level... and after many short films, many sleepless nights trying to complete films when the kids and wife sleep at night, while holding 3 jobs a sometimes 4... I can finally share with you some brilliant validating news (and it’s exciting to post this here, because it’s the first place I came to [try to] make contacts)... I am whole heartedly overwhelmed and filled with joy to report back that I just recently, while in Australia, just earned myself US Management in LA with a first look feature film deal with Sony Pictures International. It a dream come true 🥳🥳🥳🥳🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
2) After allll these years I finally own my own brand new RED, my Komodo arrived a few days back, sure it’s not Monstro, but it’s a RED, it’s mine and I earned it :)
3) I would love to share my latest short film, called TEMPLE OF ZOOM, an irreverent comedy about the man who invented ZOOM videos and the issues with Zoom calls. This (straight out) isn’t for everyone comedy wise (believe me), it’s r rated and genre comedy, but for a few hours work in a single room, as film makers I hope you enjoy the effort :) Shot on RED by Casimir Dickson.
Thanks for your time.
Kacey.
