In the coming days you'll be seeing the results of a very elaborate lens test. This is the 3rd such test produced by this crew.

Honored to play a small role in The Ultimate Full Frame Lens Test some time ago. Looks like everything must be nearly done to be released. That is no small task considering the shear volume of lenses and tests being looked at. If you're curious, my full quote regarding VistaVision and holding close ups is typically the wides hold a bit better on the CU on the larger formats.
I'm very much in love with VistaVision as a format, most of you who have known me in the last two decades have heard my love letters to both the film and modern digital VV produced by RED, now approximately offered by so many others. Might be my favorite format in what I consider a handful of favorites: S16, S35, VV, 65mm 5-perf, and 70mm 15-perf. Got a couple other formats in there too, though at that point it's more of a dance of aspect ratios.
S35 is the inherent backbone of our industry both for film and digital. Really in the last few years VV has emerged and provided that previously rarer option on film, but now available in digital. Yes we have larger than that even, but the shear amount of creative choice you have amidst the main three formats: S16, S35, and VV is enough to keep you up at night pondering what glass you'll be using on your next shoot. Tests like this help with that.
