I'm curious with the RF mount coming to Komodo and presumably 3rd party lenses at some point, would it be possible to add an RF mount to the available options for DSMC2 cameras? Or perhaps the sensors are too far back in the bodies for that to work?

Interesting, the sensor sits too far back in the DSMC2 body?

Yes... the interchangeable mount platform (that you bolt the different RED mounts into) is ~21mm from the sensor... RF flange distance is 20mm. The worst part is that there really wasn’t anything preventing RED’s interchangeable mount platform from being way shallower (since digital motion cameras have always been “mirrorless“ even before mirrorless was a thing).

That being said, I was under the impression that the back focus of DSMC1 and 2 was adjustable by ~4mm, which makes it possible... It’d be worth investigating just for an RF-to-EF speedbooster potential..
