Scarlet-MX in 5K mode for streaming, how?

Wow, didn't know that. Useful if you want to get a wider FOV. Interesting, is it possible to push it further with 3kWS @ 60fps with 5k lookaround to an external recorder. The only thing i hate in Scarlet MX is that you can't do 50 at @ 4k, while at 3k you're limited in terms of FOV options (some sets of lenses I occasionally use are 20mm widest)

No, there’s a limitation with Look Around; it only works at one resolution size bigger than what's set internally. So 3kWS 60p with Look Around, would only give you 4K FOV 60p at 1080p... But, yes, full sensor 5k FOV at 1080p is surprisingly better than 4k at 1080p.

As for webcam, Canon just release a EOS Webcam Beta software that allows you to turn any EOS ~5DR and newer into a webcam. Might be worth checking out.

This encoder plus free Open Broadcaster Studio software will get you what you need for a basic setup. We use these in corporate streaming setups for multi-cam ZOOM conferencing. For more than one camera you also need a network switch. An inexpensive 1GB 8 port POE switch is all you need.

BM Mini Recorder is the cheapest option for turning an SDI or HDMI feed into OBS /streaming over thunderbolt up to 30fps 1080 (about £140 here in the Uk) plus there’s a few Used for less on eBay.
