If you believe in your project then first spend from your own pocket. That builds credibility. Else, many people here think that you always talk in the air ie. self-promote and nothing ever comes out of those projects. Once you spend money from your pocket to hire crew, then people will understand and respect you more.

There is a fine line between art and crass. Without refinement of the script, treatment and edit, a project instead of looking like art can appear like porn. That was the problem with Rape of a Beauty. The title itself could have been better. I am sure you have moved on and learned a ton from that mistake. My sincere advise. Please collaborate with some script writer and refine your script till it is good and till it suits your pocket. Then hire people and shoot. Also, since you are an actor, it is better to hire a director.

I am already placing up to the last dollar I have of my own in this project, no question about that.

But I initially tough that offering a Backend only pay would actually end up being a much more generous offer.

But I now will pay every one in a NonUnion project with agree upfront amount.

I sure did learned my lesson form seven years ago, no doubt.

My scripts are always refined over and over, and it will be no difference for this one, and while it will not go out it will get read proof by those involved and it will need no further attention.

As far as some one else Directing any of my projects, not a chance, I write for myself not to sale or to let others Direct or DP my work.

But I will always be sure to surround myself with the best Crew/Talent affordable as per project base to insure that I am supported as best as possible and so is the project itself.

I don't see anything creepy from the project... I worked in LA on a bunch of shit level b-movies and saying this is strange is like denying, Eli Roth movies are exploitation, horror flicks... Knock Knock stars Keanu Reeves movies are getting and bigger budgets, so there is a huge market for it. The remake of Evil Dead made $100mill

the concept and premise doesn't really sing to me, but maybe there's a cool hook and some great scenes... and really it's the execution, not the concept of the movie, that will make it great.

Thanks Jeffery, I don't think this film is any different than many Chick Slash Horror tiller flicks on Netflix.
The Covid-19 reference is simply to the fact that at the end for budget constrictions it made more sense to make it part of the story instead of them being survivors of a nuclear hit.

This is simply a chick slash flick with a hint of triller, a very simple and inexpensive way to create a Spec Feature Film for Netflix, because I know what they are looking for.

For sure I wasn't going to be locked in to a house with five guys :)

That was SEVEN years ago and I admitted at length the way it turned in to a total disaster and posted the project any ways to discuss its failures, because I am not afraid of failures, but it was easy for Cyberbullies and RED haters to turn it in to an out of proportion thing.

It was an experimental short film done with all of the right intention but with all coming together in the worst way, during the testing of the new Dragon sensor with way too many people involved and the testing fo two new softwares and a new Mac system, all literally went wrong and systems crashed over and over, and the Editor/Colorist/Sound fucked me over with the worst possible job, but that too was my fault.

I should have never let it see the light of day, but I did, and go pushed to oblivion because of it, but enough is enough man, piss off now please.

that's like saying this is a Warner bros spec film, never talked to anyone there but it's perfect for warner brothers!
i think just call it a "independent film" and move on and make it.
i dont know you, i dont know what you have done before and i dont care, just go do your thing and hopefully it works out.
just know, there is no back end, so better to pay everyone a flat fee for being there.
the company and producers from the sharknado franchise hired me in 1998 to shoot a film, on film, i was a music video Dp at the time, a pretty highend one, but wanted to do a movie so i said yes, and got my crew to work on it with me for a couple of weeks mainly because they were loyal to me, but production paid everyone the same, even me, $100 a day. it was like. socialist regime but it worked, they made their film. the only hesitance i would have coming in, if i was a beginning crew member, is that you are producing, directing, dp and acting in it? and cooking??? i dont even know how that is possible, but if you think it is, then i wouldnt even post on reduser, just put your little team together and go out and shoot it. then come back with something special.
