Are there any "character" lenses that are also sharp?

This doesn't look that soft to me.

Yet sharpness is a way too much overrated, Jake, u possibly got not a bad sample, but a bad serviced sample.

USSR lenses need optical adjustment after any dissassemy! Else it losts performance.

Plz look here, isn't that sharp?!

Guys all I’m sayin is most Helios I’ve seen and have are soft and bloomy wide open, no biggie, they sharpen up quick

Totally possible there are better copies than mine, and Ilya yes I’m sure with adjustments could be better, mine are certainly not serviced, but one I have is from this company

Thanks for these tests Alex, I had seen on Ironglass IG, but I'm glad I saw them here in 4k.

I've ordered the 20 to 135mm set early march, I guess it shouldn't be too long anymore until the delivery, as the prototypes are in their final stage.

Actually, I've got some more right now, all wide open:

Does anyone have experience with the 20mm? I like the idea of this set but I’m concerned that the wide won’t perform well enough.

Thanks for all these updates Alex. Did you happen to try any of the other lenses besides the 58? Interesting how they match physically, specially whether the lenses extend during focusing.

Nope, not yet. As far as I know the 28, 37, 58 and 85 are the exact match in terms of housing and mechanics. You can look through their instagram account, recently they've uploaded packing a set, where you can clearly see everything you're asking

I've seen that in the meanwhile.

They actually offer to send me the 4 main lenses, and the 20 + 135 when they are done.

I can't wait to have them with me.
