    A happy fast shipping story.

My Laowa 12mm T2.9 in PL mount arrived today.

Quick 30 seconds worth of thoughts.

I was an early owner and supporter of the lens via Kickstarter back in 2016/2017. After discovering it covered RED 8K VV I really, reallly, really wanted it in PL mount with proper gears, front, etc. I used it early on in EF mount, still use that lens. And a few companies rehoused it eventually for a bit over 2X the price of the newer cinema version.

So what you get is the lens shipped in a nice hard case w/ foam, shims, and a very important 114mm clamp on matte box ring. Impressively long focus throw. Very thoughtful and well done.

Tossed it up on Monstro and am pleased to say everything is working perfectly. Footage soon-ish.

Some more screen grabs using the 12mm t/2.9 on a recent TV series. The lens is still ultra-wide (~18mm) when being used on S35 sensor. Its versatile to get a FF compatible lens than a S35 one.

I just picked one up yesterday from Duclose. Looked at on their projector against my 14mm Sigma. Holds up very well edge-edge, I'd say very close to the Sigma in sharpness and performance. Nice plus is that the lens with the BT Atom Matte Box will cover 8K on the Monstro! I bought a 114mm lens cap (Duclose Pro Cap) and plan on leaving the step up ring on the lens.
