If the EVO-DSMC2 is attached to the camera via a Red Base Expander ... no battery is attached ... and you plug in a DC power sources into the Base Expander's 6-pin Lemo ... will the EVO's internal battery charge and provide voltage data from this source?

    UPDATE - no it doesn't.

This question was missed, and is actually the deciding factor for me... do the p-taps get consistent power from the internal battery? Or are they dependent on the external v-lock battery to run?

I'm tired of my Teradek RT briefly losing voltage from my Red v-lock plate whenever the camera powers on/off... causing the motor to recalibrate, losing focus point, slipping the focus ring, and generally irritating me :)

    Hey Ivan,

The P-Taps and DC outputs on the EVO are active as long as the internal pack is charged, an onboard battery is mounted, or an AC/DC source is plugged into the DC input on the EVO. Your Teradek will remain powered during a battery hot swap when plugged into the EVO's DC outputs.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks!
