1st gen teradek ok?

I’m looking at teradeks and I’m new to the video monitoring world. I’m looking for a used unit. Anything I need to know? I see people that are looking for gen 3 versions and I wondered if there were any down sides are things I should stay away with 1st or 2nd gen teradeks. Thanks!

I have a 1st generation Teradek and to be honest you can have it for real cheap if you want. It's basically more a proof of concept than a working solution.

I had a bolt pro. Before the Bolt 300.

Worked great, till the antenna fried. Teradek wont service it. so no repairs at all.

I've been using the first gen for a few years now. The 300 version. It works great indoors, but my only complaint is that it starts losing signal at about 100 ft , outdoors.

Thanks for all the responses, I don’t have huge needs for features etc so that being said, looking for a solid close range system. Budget friendly. Mostly for low budget work where it’s just easier for me the operator to not have Someone standing over my shoulder. On bigger shoots will definitely rent. Any suggestions on model etc? I also have only used teradek, never used any of the Chinese companies.

Hollyland 400s looks quite impressive. Can transmit to Ipad/Android as well. Delay is around 100ms so maybe not the absolute best for focus pulling.
