    https://www.red.com/red-ranger - new variants online at 10am

By popular request we have added Gemini and Helium sensors to the Ranger lineup. These two RANGER variants are open to all for purchase, and Ranger Monstro remains a Rental House controlled camera.

    Ranger Helium $29,950
    Ranger Gemini $24,950

We will also be offering a Trade-in for existing DSMC2 customers that want to upgrade their existing Gemini or Helium cameras to the Ranger body.

Trade-in price is $15k for either Ranger variant coming from a DSMC2 Camera, the Ranger trade in program will begin in October.

We worked closely with the Rental Houses to make these two new Rangers open... one of the other nuances here is that we are doing these as Trade-ins not Upgrades so that should dramatically reduce the waiting time for doing your upgrade. The downside to that of course is that when you trade in , you will not get the same serial numbers or your own internals back, which shouldn't really matter but I know it does to some.

This also paves the way for quicker sensor swaps which rental houses have been asking for, so if you want to swap between Gemini or Helium or Monstro between shoots they can swap entire cameras quickly instead of going through open heart surgery every time.

These are gonna sell really well. 5K over regular DSMC2 bodies with a lot of functionality built in. Hopefully one of these days I'll get my hands in one.
    Great job Jarred!

Will the trade in be available for Epic-W? Will it be coming with the full kit PL mount etc?

This has to be the greatest news from Red this year! These Rangers are BOMB cameras. I can't wait to get my hands on them.

Looks like RED.com is still updating Ranger info as of 10:15.

Not trying to be a jerk, just letting you know...

Props to RED for the Ranger program. I love being able to custom rig my Monstro body, but with that flexibility comes a bit more complexity. Making a more standard form factor with RED's core strengths in sensor performance and RedCode compression inside should only expand the red revolution.

Yeah technical difficulties as usual :)

Landing page should be working but the buy now page is getting hit HARD so may take a while to load.
