It would appear the embargo has lifted.

*edit, I've added it to my PHFX | tools formatCompare

    Stuff you want to know:

    - Same sensor as the C700 (though they say newly developed at the same time, likely some improvements)
    - Max FPS @ Max Format = 5.9K @ 60p
    - Codecs: Canon Raw Lite, XF-AVC 4:2:2 10-bit (at 4K and 2K resolutions only) - No ProRes or DNxHR
    - Media: 2X CFexpress slots and an SD card slot
    - Lens Mounts: Comes with EF, separate interchangeable Cine EF and PL available
    - 5-axis image stabilizer
    - Internal Timecode
    - 12G-SDI 4K Out
    - A bit more moodular, removable EVF for instance and "Extension Units" to expand out to V-Mount or compact Genlock.

Other than that the regular C series stuff.

    Price: Around $16,000 USD projected
    Release Date: January 2020

Competition is always a good thing for the customer. The big advantage all these major manufacturers have is the support, at least here in Europe. Canon support really rocks here.

For those not fully tuned in, about a 2 days ago Sandisk announced their new Extreme PRO CFexpress Card Type B line (64, 128, 256, and 512GB). If I was a betting man, the new Sony announcement will also feature CFexpress because Type B seems to have been hammered out very, very recently. Likely launched a new line of Type B cards too. It was announced in February, but appears that it's coming to cameras in 2020. More or less 6-ish months later than expected, but nonetheless here. As far as I know the newer cards will likely top out at 1TB.

I'll need to do th math on Canon Raw Lite, but I think the max data rate is around 260-ish MB/s at 5.9K. Sort of RED data rate territory, like Monstro 6K FF around 3:1 REDCODE RAW.

Sandisk mislabeled their new CFExpress cards as CFast 2.0 on the product page. I guess someone didn't have their coffee that morning.

It goes for $15,999 at B&H, pretty competitive price. It looks great on paper. Lets see how it performs in the real world.
