    Hi guys
I'm traveling to Marocco to check out some locations.
Since I'm there I would love to bring along my Dragon-X just to shoot a couple of plates (non-commercial). Now I've heard a lot of nightmares stories about bringing along your video camera to Marocco. That they won't allow you to enter the country without having a permit or the signature of the ministry of communication.
Does someone had similar experience or different ones?

    Hi Sandeep,
To enter the country with a professional video camera, you need a permit delivered by the CCM which will allow you shooting a project into the country.
At the airport, customs officer knows about cameras and might bust you if they see one through the xray scan however, I sometimes sneaked into the country with my gear without any issue, same for my friends... But I also get caught twice and I had to let my gear at the custom offices while doing the paperwork.
Thing to keep in mind, even if you manage to enter the country without filming permit, if you shoot in town or close to a monument, at some point, cops will show up and ask for a permit, if you don’t have it, they will ask you to justify how you managed to come into the country with your gear...
It’s definitely easier to plays by the rules or to rent gear to a local company other there.

    Thanks for the info, Vincent
I was in contact with a local production company and they've told me that it would cost around 2800$ for a non-commercial film permit.

There’s no proper cost for a film permit there.
They charge you for filling paperwork, etc... It shouldn’t be that expensive.
Hit those guys, I worked with them they are really professional: http://www.sigmatv.net/
