I'm wondering if Pana had pre-ISO Cal2 and post-ISO Cal2 versions (e.g. they compensated for more accurate in the metering in their LUT, prior to RED introducing it via firmware). In that case, the pre-ISOCal2 would have been about a stop brighter when applied to an ISO Cal2 captured image.

I understand that it’s darker, but is it just a “-1” re-exported LUT, or is it an updated version of the LUT from PanaVision (with additional improvements)?

I definitely prefer less yellow/green in the skin tones of all the DXL LUTs.

Nothing too magical, it just looks really nice. It's cool using a Light Iron developed/Panavision approved RWG/L3G10>709 conversion LUT because Panavision is a mainstay in the feature film industry (75+ years making moving pictures look their best) and Light Iron are amazing at post/colour (especially with R3Ds).

So it's a nice industry-vetted alternative to RED's own normalization, that a lot of people think is a bit prettier out of the gate.
