A recording of these sessions is also available for viewing.
The sessions I've seen so far have a lot of useful information and I highly recommend viewing them.

Only issue is the RED/FCP X workflow session does not seem to be available.
    Hopefully this will change.

Rand, always glad to chip in when I can.

Final Cut Pro X is Unique

Off the Tracks, director/editor Bradley Olsen

The director of Off the Tracks, Bradley Olsen, discusses Final Cut Pro X's unique features. Features like Ratings, Keywords, Smart Collections, Roles, and the Magnetic Timeline not only differentiate Final Cut from its competitors, they make the application better suited for any type of video editing project, large or small.

Poster's note: This is among the best videos that details why Final Cut Pro X allows editors to work faster and more efficiently to traditional NLEs.
Along with Olson's well stated explanations, there are snippets of an interview with Randy Ubillios (original lead programmer for Final Cut Pro X, Final Cut Pro 1-7, and the initial versions of Adobe Premiere).
Also includes an additional interview with former Apple Interface Designer Dave Cerf, and an interesting snippet with Steve Jobs.

Also worth watching is the doc Off the Tracks directed by Bradley Olson that chronicles the turbulent history of the release of FCP X and it's eventual turnaround.

    Brian,

I saw this video and incorrectly prejudged this guy based on his appearance without reading the YouTube page and bypassed it. I'm going to have to do better a job in the future of not discounting a video for the final cut thread based on a quick preliminary scan of what looks interesting.

    Thanks again for posting this!!!

    No problem Rand.
Bradley Olson is quite accomplished as an editor and filmmaker. I actually spoke with him for a little at a screening in New York.
I guess the scruffiness is due to the lockdown situation we're all in.
