i'm not really a prores shooter for my own projects but have been asked to do it a lot more recently

I have been to date formatting fat32 but the prores splitting is a pain in the balls

has anyone one had any issues?

I've tested the fool clip route which seemed to work but i'm guessing doing it in camera is the way to go if working well

Yes, doing UDF in Camera is the way to go. Always format RED media in Camera, but if you're on the Mac, you can use Sony's UDF driver to make a UDF volume on a Hard drive or USB.

    thanks blair

sorry for the lack of understanding but why would i need to need to use the sony software, do you mean if you were to format the mag from a computer?

workflow would still be the same apart from formatting the mags in the the udf format would it not.

I specifically want to offer a quick proxy work flow in adobe premiere without having to re render

    cheers
