The 3 is the smallest lightest time code capable recorder out there. There are a few different, small, very lightweight, reasonable T.C. options available, and should be pretty easy to camera mount- with 2 Rf's and shotgun. And, the 3 is a great little ADC/DAC/Headphone puck.
Ha ha! That is really funny. I am doing exactly the same. 10 and 3 together!

Have either of you decided on what T.C module to get for the 3 and the cam?

For real sync work I will jam-sync using the Mix-Pre10 - and in most cases there will be a sound recordist attached.
The 3 is more reserved for wild track recordings of atmospheres or situations where I don't have a sound recordist and mount it on board behind the camera carrying a 416/418.
In that case, both would run TOD and the Mix-Pre3 would feed back into 3&4 on the camera. If I felt the need to add a TC module it would probably be a tentacle - or the smallest thing available. For documentary often less is more and I personally hate cluttered rigs. But when it comes to sync you can't beat jam-sync and a recordist. :))

They have a mk2, dunno why you'd buy this over a mk1 (and probably stands no chance against the slightly more expensive Zoom F4):
