I don't know how many people here use Motion, but it is insanely powerful, and while there are lots of things it can't do, what it does do, it does brilliantly. When compared to AE with its klunky RAM preview business it really shines. Just sayin'. And before somebody posts how great AE is, I am not suggesting you substitute Motion for AE, just that for some things, Motion is way faster and easier to use, and did I mention faster? Oh, and you can actually listen to the audio you are designing to.

You can be snarky skeptical or whatever you want. The number is probably much bigger by now as that 2 million number was announced many months ago. You probably won't hear from Apple again until it hits 3 million.

The world of "professional" editing is being redefined. It is true, despite that fact that several Hollywood films have now famously been edited on FCPX, that Hollywood is Avid. It will probably stay mostly Avid until a) all the old farts using it have retired or died, or b) Avid goes bankrupt and the application stops working. Professional editors are now people doing corporate video, Youtube content, independent film, you-name-it; and they are making a good living from it. Just like there are "pro" golfers who aren't on th PGA tour and yet make a good living teaching at country clubs, there are "pro" editors who never touched a single shot captured by Roger Deakins.

You will probably be amused at the fact that in the new version FCPX, you will be able to open a project started on iMovie. You think that might have an effect on the growth of FCPX?
