[QUOTE=David Kellermann;1824902]We're indeed not using the focal length reducer by Brian Caldwell (which is used in the Metabones products) any more. We'll do more technical and non technical tests in the next weeks and post the results.

RED rented at IBC instead of a booth several conference rooms where we had the chance to test the SpeedMount EF and PL on a RED Gemini. Here's a photo with a Zeiss Supreme Prime 100mm at T1.5:

Thanks David, Looking forward to seeing the tests and results.

Have these started shipping? And if so, can someone put out some test footage and/or review. I'm definitely interested in these for my Scarlet-Ws, just want to see some of the results with actual footage.

Also, will we have to purchase direct or will you have a US dealer?
Thanks for any help you can give!

Been following you guys journey since NAB 2017 amazing to see product finally out. Will there be an option for RED Raven owners? I asked this at NAB last year – Been hoping some news shakes, would love to be on the beta team and attache the product with major spots I'm capturing on Raven. (@chillvibes)

Are you still working on an Arri version for the mini or not?

Same with DSMC1 (or is that officially off the table)?

I second this question! I'd love to get my hands on one of these for the Alexa Mini.

We're still waiting on technical drawings from ARRI, but given our talks with ARRI, I don't think it will happen. Reason being the ND filter inside the Alexa Mini... there's just not enough space for the optical block of the SpeedMount.

We tried, but it's impossible to fit the optical block into DSMC1 cameras unless you're willing to change the focal flange a lot (which makes it not interchangeable with other RED mounts without recalibration).

    Best regards

There is a guy named Luca Butera ( Lucadapter ) who has apparently managed to shoehorn a focal reducer into the Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 4.6K. This was thought to be the impossible dream because of the two ND filter disks in the optical path. The IR filter has to come out and is replaced by an IR filter which is integrated into the optical group in his adapter. He was also not using the Caldwell optics on other adapters but a system he defines as NXL. He was offering Caldwell optics as an alternative at a higher cost. There might be hope for the ARRI Alexa yet depending upon how far forward their filters are and whether the optical viewinder split has moved them further forward than the URSA Mini Pro.
