DNxHD Clips look washed out

Interesting but I have a similar problem exporting QT files (4K or 1080 ProRes) for my clients to edit. The images look fabulous in Resolve, but washed out when viewed as .mov QT. I later checked the QT files in Resolve and they looked exactly as I graded them. Blackmagic gave me an unsatisfactory answer so I've counted on client to respond if there is a problem. So far none. I will go thru workflow videos and see what I come up with.

Michael, I read the blog post. Thanks very much, I especially like the ClipToolz suggestion. One downside, IIUC, is that you are limited to the DNx codecs, right?

Yes, exporting as OP1a is limited to DNxHD and HDNxHR codecs.

Yes sounds like you need to get educated on full range vs video levels and proper viewing output options. Otherwise it's a confusing shit show for sure. You have to know what signal your giving and getting, how programs interpret them etc. this drove me crazy for a long time too, and most people fight this so your not alone
