  1. #1 10mm focal lengths
For a while been considering purchasing a 10mm zeiss standard speed lens. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for someone who is quite fond of the 10mm standard that I should look at as well. Rectilinear design is preferable

I used this 12mm baby on a documentary in Nepal last year:

really nice lens and the distortion was very low considering the angle. Not sure how much that would change with the 10mm but its probably fairly close.
    Fantastic lens for landscape work.

do you know if its rectilinear?

is rectlinear always kind of a spectrum, with some lenses being more rectilinear than others? i've used the 10mm standard speed and a kinoptic 9.8 and love the vibe of both

Yes it is, there was hardly any barrel distortion.
Not sure how it would perform up close with architecture and building shots but considering the focal length I was very positively surprised. Even shot a couple of interviews with this baby to take in the surroundings.

I've seen photos online of the zeiss 10mm standard, some have it looking like most of the other zeiss primes, and some photos show it with the super wide diameter front end. is there really a more 'compact' version of this lens or are the photos ive seen online simply incorrect?

has anyone used the Optex 10.5 and care to share thoughts on how it compares to the zeiss 10mm? ive read reports that say they're exactly the same but i wonder if in the finder details they are a bit different?
